Varsity Boy's Tennis Come Home Winner's

Congratulations to the Boys Tennis team who won the 5AAAAA State Championship Friday with a 3 – 1 win over previously undefeated Harrison.

Winning for Northview was the doubles team of Stephen Young and Trevor Getz with singles victories by Ricky Doverspike and Davis Dawson. Strong performances were given by David Doverspike at #1 singles as well as the #2 doubles team of Matt Homan and Michael Hicks, who were winning when the match was ended with Davis Dawson's tie-break victory.

Victory over Quarterfinals

With the victory over Pope in the quarterfinals, the Boys Tennis team advances to the Final Four of state competition. Winning for Northview were Ricky Doverspike at #2 singles, Matt Homan and Michael Hicks at #1 doubles, and Trevor Getz and Stephen Young at #2 doubles. All r Quarterfinalsother matches were called off court when the deciding 3 rd match was won.

*Northview will face Valdosta in the semifinal match to be played at 10:00 at the Stone Mountain Tennis Center on Friday, May 12. The finals will be played also on Friday.

Boys Varsity Season

The boys varsity tennis team completed the season with an undefeated 10-0 region schedule. Subsequently, the team won region 7-AAAAA with wins over Mill Creek, Chattahoochee and Peachtree Ridge. Northview has since won the first round of the state competition with a 3-0 win over South Gwinnett . Winning in that match was Ricky Doverspike and Davis Dawson in singles and Michael Hicks and Matt Homan in doubles. All other matches were called when Northview reached 3 points.

The next state competition will be at the Stone Mountain Tennis Center for thev2nd and quarterfinal rounds to be played on Friday, May 5 th , starting at 11:30 .
