Coach Pittman – Head Coach
Dave Pittman is a social studies teacher at Northview. This is his second year as Head Coach of the Boy's program after serving three years on staff as a JV and Varsity assistant coach. Prior to coming to Northview Coach Pittman was an assistant coach at Etowah High School. In high school he played midfield for the Germantown and River City lacrosse clubs traveling throughout the Mid-South to play games. He's excited to have inherited such a solid program and is looking forward to the increased competitiveness this season holds.
Coach Ryan, Head Varsity Field Coach
Mike Ryan has been involved in lacrosse for over 30 years at all playing levels. He played defense at SUNY at Cortland and was a member of their National Championship program. In 1980, Mike started his coaching and teaching career at Shaker High School in Albany, New York, where he instituted the lacrosse program and had a record of 136-14. His team participated in five New York State championship tournaments, and produced fifteen All-State players and five High School All-Americans. He was also a three time New York State coach of the year recipient. Mike also coached at Rochester Institute of Technology, as the associate head coach, in charge of offense and recruiting. RIT was consistently ranked top three in the country and participated in two Division 3 National Championship Final Fours. The program produced eight Division 3 All-Americans, and had a record of 40-4. Mike and his family transferred to Georgia in 1997 and quickly became involved in area lacrosse. He helped institute and promote the Alpharetta Rec. Program, the Super South Lacrosse Camp, various youth programs, and helped grow the program at Milton High School. His teams at Milton have participated in four, final four appearances in the State tournament and the program has produced twenty-two All-State players, and five High School All-Americans.
Coach Franceschini – Assistant/Varsity Coach
Henry Franceschini has been on the Boy's Lacrosse coaching staff since our inaugural 2002 season. Coach Franceschini played and lettered in lacrosse at Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union (Virginia) for 4 years. He did not play college lacrosse, as it was not available at that time. After college, he played for the Pittsburgh Lacrosse Club for 4 seasons against other clubs such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, Columbus, Cleveland as well as college teams from the Pittsburgh/Ohio area. Coach Franceschini is looking forward to being a Community Coach volunteer and coaching the Northview Titans Boy's Lacrosse teams.
Coach Westbrook, Assistant Varsity Coach, Defense
Jim Westbrook has been involved with lacrosse for over 30 years. He played defense in college and earned honors as All Region 4 defender while playing for the 1977 Canton Tech team that went to the final four of the NJCAA championship. He also played at Rochester Institute of Technology and was captain of the 1980 team that had an 11-4 record. Jim was a referee for 24 years and refereed all levels of play up to D1. He was a founding member of the Georgia Lacrosse Officials Association and was the President for 7 years. For the past three years Jim has coached with the Junior Titan program. Last year's team was 23-1 losing their only game in overtime in the state finals. Last summer Jim led a team to Colorado to play in the U-15 Vail shootout. That team, comprised of 16 Junior Titan players, compiled a record of 6-3 and won the B division of the tournament.
Coach Pappas- Junior Varsity Coach
Mike Pappas joined the Northview lacrosse staff in 2007 and is looking forward to coaching the Titans again this year. Coach Pappas played lacrosse for Boulder High School in Colorado and now enjoys playing lacrosse in the various Double Stixx leagues here in Atlanta. Coach Pappas teaches social studies at Northview High School.
Coach Erickson, Junior Varsity Coach
Logan Erickson is a product of Georgia Lacrosse. He was a three-year Letterman at Lassiter High School 2002-2004. He was also a two-time All State Selection and in 2004 was the Georgia Player of the Year. After high school, Logan attended and played varsity lacrosse at Division III national powerhouse Lynchburg College. Logan is a member of the 2005 ODAC Champion Lynchburg Hornets and a two time NCAA Tournament participant. A recurring shoulder injury resulted in transferring to the College of Charleston where Coach Erickson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Finance concertration.
